Light and Shade

This book is a collection of twenty one poetries written by Mohan Mitra. Having been groomed up in pastoral environment, the poet is greatly influenced by the nature and the beauty of folk culture. These poetries manifest love and hatred, sorrow and joy, togetherness and separation having significant impact on human life and the society and embrace the beauty of open nature, human life and their interaction. At this height of civilisation the sufferings of the downtrodden as well as weaker section of people including women are in increasing trend. He brought forward such interaction and emotions through his poetries.
