Autumn Don't Fall

Autumn Don’t Fall, A novel in verse is a novel told in twenty poems. Autumn is a young woman from Philadelphia who moves to Edinburgh after an arranged marriage to Aaron, the charming heir to a family forestry business. The city sells itself as a place “where peace comes to stay,” but behind one quiet door on the hill Autumn lives through a different story: a husband whose words never match his actions, a household that looks away, a staircase that “swore I fell,” and long nights recorded in the margins of a diary she keeps hidden. In rhyming verse that is sometimes tender, sometimes sharp and sometimes devastating, the book follows her through the abuse of her marriage and much more.
