Kohl and Code gathers twenty-one poems written across more than thirty years — the oldest from 1992, the newest from today — circling the same few things: time and what outlasts it; a kerala childhood memory and a martian future; the god in the temple and the god waking inside the code. Ritual and circuitry, kohl and code, are never quite kept apart. By turns elegiac and playful, ancient and newly minted, these poems trace one long arc from the sacred to the synthetic — and back.
