The poems in this book come from a village author returned to every year, and from a childhood that did not know it was collecting memories for the future. At the time, these were not stories. They were just days—walking barefoot on warm earth, watching lanterns glow at dusk, riding a bicycle behind grandfather, performing rituals, spending evenings under neem trees, listening to elders speak in silences as much as in words.
