The weight of the rising sun is an insight to Emma's mind and heart during her experiences in past and present relationships. Her present romantic relationship, that of which she expresses have some similar characteristics of safety, security, and stability that she also got from converting to Christianity. Diagnosed with Anxiety and depression, the poems show the process of how she evolves from uncertainty, overthinking, and doubt, to taking control of such feelings and focusing more on hope.
