Fearing Poetry

Dhoomil, the celebrated poet from Varanasi, once wrote, “I have pulled down the curtains of my window/ the danger nowadays / isn’t from the light outside, but from the one inside.” Poetry has that purpose, to throw light on what is invisible within us, our partner, our family and friends, our societies, the nature around us, or the unnatural way that human society relates with nature. This invisible thing inside us, can be sensed as a web: a web that binds, but also a web that carries both nectar and poison. This collection of poems explores this web.
