Description of the Book :

2020 was a tough year for many, in a rather unprecedented way.  A virus held us all hostage, and a lot of us were forced to welcome sadness in a way that we hadn't envisioned. Many amongst us are still trying to heal from the trauma that made its way into our lives, in a rather grim year, where the world turned into a playground of constant fear, insecurity and loss. But amongst the darkest days and events too, humans still find a way to adapt and move. This art of resilience that each one of us carries is arguably one of the best things about our species. But

there is a strong intangible phenomenon that complements this art of resilience to make it beautiful, poetic and hopeful. This phenomenon is love, in all its shapes and forms that it exists. This book tends to explore the different stages of resilience that we collectively lived through, and continue to live through, whilst still managing to make room for love. The title of the book is inspired by an old classic called "Love in the Time of Cholera", by the Colombian Nobel prize-winning author Gabriel García Márquez. Just like the old novel, this book too makes an attempt to celebrate and explore the different shades of love in the midst of a calamity.

About the Author : I am Epcita, a 22-year-old, born in New Delhi and brought up in 11 different states across the country. I currently put up in Gurgoan where I work in a social impact venture. Constantly moving as I grew up through childhood allowed me a chance to spark a friendship with diversity. This also ignited in me a passion for socio-politics and understanding in depth the cultures that exist in and around the world. I am an intersectional feminist, with a dream to work for various human rights-related issues.Apart from this, one thing that I have always found working for me, whether in terms of exploring ways of changing the world for the better or at a personal level, getting me by during tough times has been the art of writing. I truly believe that words can heal and narratives do shape the society in which we grow. To this end, one can always find me reaching out to music, nature, food or words, my four constant comfort buddies.
